HONEY
Surprising benefits of honey
1. It's a natural sweetener
Honey is the most natural sweetener you can find. You have certainly heard of people who put honey in their tea instead of refined sugar or who substitute it for sugar in cooking. “However, be aware that honey is still a sugar and should be consumed in moderation,”
2. Strengthen your immune system
The antioxidants in honey can also protect your immune system and ward off ailments like colds and flu.
3. Soothe sore throat
You cough? Take some honey, it's a cough suppressant. For a sore throat that often accompanies a cough or cold, honey is an ideal throat lubricant. Try a homemade honey gargle to soothe a sore throat.
But keep in mind that children under the age of one should not consume honey, as it can cause infant botulism.
4. Cure a hangover
Honey is a very concentrated source of fructose, a form of sugar that speeds up the oxidation of alcohol in the liver. Eating honey in the morning after a drunken night helps your body eliminate the alcohol that remains in your body.
5. Fight insomnia
If you have trouble sleeping, have a glass of warm milk with honey before bed.
6. Improve your athletic performance
Rather than fixing your carb deficiency with one of the sports drinks and, in that case, consuming lots of refined sugar, try a spoonful of honey for an energy boost. Studies suggest that honey is one of the most effective carbohydrates before a workout because it is easily digested and released into the metabolism at a steady rate.
7. Heal cuts and burns
In the past, hospitals and clinics applied honey to burns and open wounds to prevent infection. Try. The next time you have a cut, scrape, or minor burn, put some honey on the injured area to prevent infection. But don't forget to cover it with a bandage.
Also, try a honey ointment to relieve itchy skin.
8. Moisturize skin and hair
Honey is an excellent conditioner and is often used in face masks as it helps absorb and retain water. Mix honey with olive oil for a natural shampoo or try it as a moisturizing mask and lip treatment.

1.
